Stains on epoxy

"It’s been about nine months since I installed my kitchen countertops using your products, and I’ve recently started noticing some staining. I couldn’t find any help articles related to the ongoing maintenance of epoxy countertops—especially for kitchen use, where I prefer to avoid harsh chemicals. Are there any recommended cleaning methods or maintenance tips? Additionally, are there any top coat products you suggest to add extra protection and prevent future staining?"

Surface didnt cure

"Its been 15 days since poured and still surface feels soft and uncured. I followed the instructions step by step as Even a plastic bag loft of bread left on for couple of hrs leaves marks on. I own an epoxy company and decided to get into the countertop business but seeing the poor results I obtained I would NOT recommend this product"

Q&A

Can you use this product over a water based stain
Yes, just make sure you clean the surface after staining to remove any stain residue that may not have penetrated or adhered well to the concrete.
How many days does it take for the epoxy to cure before use?
It should be hard enough in 24 hours for very light use but it will continue to get harder for 3-5 days so I would be gentle on it until this time is up.
Can this be applied over z counter polish or will I need to sand it all off?
It would be safest to strip the Counter-Shine first. Sanding with some 120 grit paper should do the trick.
Our countertop is only about 13 square ft. It looks like we need less than a gallon of z poxy. Do you sell smaller amounts on a case by case basis?
For the Ultra Z Poxy, the smallest amount would be the 1.5 gallon kit. At a full 80mils thick this only does 30 sq. ft. If you do more than one coat, you might have a lot less left over than you think.
I have older countered of concrete can I overlay epoxy with ccolor
Yes, this would be a great way to use the epoxy to make the counter look new again. You may need to prep the concrete by sanding it first but you can email us at info@concretecountertopsolutions.com with photos and we would be happy to help.
My flood coat is cloudy. Any idea why?
please send us photos to info@concretecountertopsolutions.com and we will help you diagnose and fix.
When can I apply after pouring a new countertop?
For an epoxy like this, you do need the concrete to be fully cured. Typically the guideline is 28 days but for a countertop slab that is in a temperature and humidity controlled environment, you are usually safe between the 7-10 day mark. You can test for moisture by following the instruction on the Ultra Z Poxy data sheet.
The middle of my island was uneven and the epoxy self leveled but has a yellowish hue after after 4 hours. Will this go away?
Epoxy can yellow over time with enough UV exposure but this takes, weeks, months or even years depending on the level of exposure. I wonder if it has something to do with the reflective surface and the lighting in the room or with the color enhancing properties of the epoxy bringing out different shades in the concrete. Are you able to capture this in photos and email them to us?
How long does the epoxy need to cure before I can place things on it long term and put it to regular use?
Within 24 hours you can place stuff on top of it and start light use but the epoxy will continue to harden for about 3 days so it is a good idea to baby it until then.
What kind of sheen does this have? Shiny, matte, or in-between?
This product is a high gloss. It can be matted by either wet sanding or applying a lower luster polyurethane,
