Description

LC001 Z Liqui-Crete Add Mixture

Z Liqui-Crete contains a proprietary blend of specially formulated additives and ultra fine acrylic fibers that will transform a 60 lb. bag of standard concrete sand mix into a high strength flowable mix that easily flows through the 1"x1 FG50 Fiberglass Mesh grid. The mix is easily troweled smooth and yields a high strength fiber reinforced countertop.

*Z Liqui-Crete should be combined with a 60 lb. concrete sand mix (Quikrete Sand/Topping) in a 5 or 10 gallon bucket using a paddle mixer. Concrete drum mixers will not produce consistent results. If concrete sand mix is hard to find in your area, you can use any 60 lb. bag of ready mix such as Quikrete Ready-To-Use Concrete. Do not use Mortar Mix or any rapid setting mixes.  Liquid-Crete is light gray in color so it will not alter the color of a standard gray concrete mix. Should not be used in white concrete.

Reviews

This add mix really works.

"This add mix really works. Was able to get a good flowable mix with minimum water addition. Only ended up with a few small cracks when cured. Used 60 pound sand mix from Sakrete with the 5 pound mix. I think it added significant strength to the countertop. Had some voids on the bull nose edge but was able to fill with Portland and got a good color match that was hardly visible once stained. Was able to form, pour, sand, stain, seal and use countertop in less than a week."

So easy to use

"I'm so impressed with myself! This countertop system cost less than $800 to completely re-do my entire kitchen. It's a smaller kitchen, but these new countertops look far nicer than anything else on the market. It's a great way to get creative with stains and mica powder as well."

Excellent Add Mix for Smooth, Professional Results

"I recently used Z Liqui-Crete for a concrete countertop project, and I’m seriously impressed. The mix made the concrete incredibly smooth and flowable—way easier to work with than traditional mixes. It eliminated the need for a vibrating table, which saved a ton of time and effort. The finished surface came out dense and free of voids, and it polished up beautifully. If you're going for a professional look with minimal hassle, this product delivers. Highly recommend it for DIYers and pros alike. Haven’t had any issues so far, but it’s good to know the team is responsive if I do. Thanks for a solid product!"

Q&A

Should I use this with a “Concrete Countertop Mix” that I got from Menards?
Technically you can use it with this mix and will get some of the added benefits but it is not the mix we would recommend. The Menards Countertop Mix is really designed for pre-cast, not cast in place. It is a bit tricky to finish and it has larger pea gravel aggregate in it. If you want to use Liqui-Crete, I would go with the Quikrete or Sakrete Sand/ Topping mix.
Can you add Charcoal ZTerra Tint if using Liqui-Crete to make the counter a black color?
Yes, you can add Charcoal Terra-Tint to make it a darker gray. You will never get it truly black. After adding 4 scoops of Terra-Tint per mix, I would then seal with the Aqua-Thane G40 which will darken it even more and get you close to black.
Is there a working temperature range? For example if it is being used for a pour-in-place outdoor kitchen area, what is the minimum temperature under which it can be used in the winter?
Concrete can typically be poured in any weather above freezing. The temperature should not drop below freezing for at least a week after pouring. It should be noted that in cooler temperatures, it will take the concrete a lot longer to set initially and a lot longer to reach a full cure.
What's the difference between z liquid and the counter top mix? Both have to add water to the mix instructions. Just trying to clarify.
The Liqui-Crete has acrylic fiber and plasticizer which makes it more of a flowable mix consistency. This is best if working with our FG50 Mesh. The Counter-Pack will offer similar strength but will give you more of a traditional concrete slump which is probably best if working with traditional wire reinforcement.
The description says this shouldn't be used with white concrete, why not?
It should not be used with our White Countertop Mix as it already has all of these additive ingredients in the bag. You can use it with other white concrete mixes but it will add a hint of gray coloring, not much but the Liqui-Crete is gray in color.
Can you buy this in bulk?
We do sell it in 6 packs. After that we can do pallet qty but you will have to call for pricing.
when will you have this item in stock? website is been saying 5-10 days for more than 6 days. Is it still more 5-10 days?
Yes, we are still on that timeline. Even once it is shipping again, there will be a back log which will cause ship times to stay around that 5-10 for a few weeks.
